2016 A Hopeful Year for Sustainability Innovation? Technology Experts Share Their I Hope List Happy New York 2016 to our friends and colleagues! What are your hopes for sustainability in this new calendar year – the pages are blank, so fill in what you would like to see happening. Elaine Hsieh, director of VERGE at the Greenbiz Group, did that for us with her “biggest hopes for sustainability technology in 2016,” which Greenbiz presented in a year end post. The result is “19 for ’16,” answers to Elaine’s questions posed to VERGE leaders. (The VERGE platform covers the intersections of technology, science, art, and culture). You’ll see brief, byte size responses from such companies and organizations as Google, Zipcar, SunPower, California Clean Energy Fund, AECOM, Rockefeller Foundation, Honeywell, NASA, and others. Example: Tom Werner, CEO of SunPower says “when it comes to innovative technology, I’m confident that sustainability will move one step closer to ‘default status’ across industries…” Here at G&A Institute we are very encouraged by the convergence of many important trends and developments that are pointing to a positive year of advancement of sustainability concepts and approaches in the corporate and investment communities. We’ll be commenting on these (our list is up to about three dozen and growing) in the pages of our Sustainability Update blog and in this newsletter for you. And as always we are here to help your company as your trusted advisers on Sustainability -- please contact us to set up a catch-up call (for our old friends), or an intro call (for our new friends) to explore how we can help!
