The Institute for Ethical Leadership at Rutgers Business School Newark and Governance & Accountability Institute are joining forces again on a two-day Certificate program in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The theme is "Building a Best-in-Class CSR Department."  The program will be on September 28 and 29, 2016 at the Rutgers Business School campus in downtown Newark, New Jersey.  Participants will have a choice of two tracks -- one for corporate responsibility topics and the other for not-for-profit / social sector organization topics, with plenary sessions to share knowledge and experience with all participants.

Steel Recycling Institute

KEY PARTNERS

This is a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute, which works with a variety of partners, such as The Canned Food Alliance, Metal Roofing Alliance, and The Metal Initiative.

OVERVIEW/MISSION
The Steel Recycling Institute states that it “serves as an informational and technical resource for the recycling, life cycle impact and ultimate sustainability of steel, as well as all steel products, including containers, construction and automotive.” The SRI also educates the public, the solid waste industry, and other stakeholders about the “benefits of steel’s infinite recycling cycle.”

BACKGROUND
SRI statistics, which update continuously on the home page of its Web site, show that over 44 million tons of steel had been recycled in North America between January 1, 2011, and August 4, 2011, when we compiled this profile. By contrast, paper was listed at 30.5 million tons and just under 2.5 million tons of aluminum had been recycled.

STRUCTURE
The Steel Recycling Institute is an industry association; it is a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute. The Steel Market Development Institute, Autosteel, and the Strategic Alliance for Steel Fuel Tanks are also part of the American Iron and Steel Institute. Membership information for AISI is located online.
