The Climate Change Consulting unit of G&A Institute is seeking a specialist to join its fast-growing team. Successful candidates should have a background both in quantitative and qualitative analysis and exhibit a passion for sustainability with a focus on climate change, as well as a collaborative approach to work and a track record of project management and problem solving while working with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
G&A offers a wide range of ESG and sustainability services, including but not limited to publishing sustainability reports (GRI, SASB, TCFD, IIRC, SDGs), materiality assessments, policy writing, ESG scoring and rankings, responding to annual surveys (CDP, CSA, EcoVadis), general sustainability consultancy, and much more. As investors seek to gain a better understanding of their exposure to climate-related risks, G&A Institute provides advisory services to support corporations and financial market participants to understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks and its impact on investments across all asset classes.
The successful candidate will manage the implementation of mandates and data deliveries towards clients and take responsibility for product development and management as part of the Climate Change Consulting team with a focus on clients from the private sector. This includes interactions with colleagues and clients from the United States and collaborating with other G&A teams.
Candidates should have a strong working knowledge and familiarity with corporate sustainability and investor ESG topics & issues including:
Climate-related reporting and disclosure frameworks especially CDP, SBTi, and TCFD.
General knowledge of Sustainability reporting and disclosure frameworks especially GRI and SASB, but also others such as DJSI, IIRC and SDGs
General knowledge of corporate reporting and disclosure
General knowledge of capital markets
General knowledge of business and strategy
Manage the implementation of advisory mandates, bespoke data deliveries, and other quantitative and qualitative analyses (Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG Emissions Inventories, LCA models, Science Based Targets, and TCFD Recommendations)
Contribute to related product development initiatives of G&A Institute
Support sales with client requests and education on product offerings
SKILLS AND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience relating to climate strategies and/or ESG (GHG Protocol, SBT, PCAF, TCFD, CDP), experience in energy efficiency is a bonus
Advanced university degree ideally in environmental science, engineering, economics, or finance
Demonstrated interest in issues of climate change and sustainable investing
Very strong quantitative (and qualitative) analytical skills and excellent conceptual thinking aptitude
Ability to developing consulting-style deliverables, such as synthesized issue insights and strategy options and recommendations
Advanced command of Excel and Word; working knowledge of PowerPoint is a bonus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer-first attitude
Has high integrity, a high bar for quality and rigor, hands-on attitude, and proactivity
Willingness to work with a highly collaborative, flexible, and innovative team and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Location: New York, NY, USA. Remote working.
