Michael Van Patten

Michael is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of my4 and is considered an impact capital markets early innovator.

Michael previously founded Mission Markets In 2008 which was an early entrant in the impact investing finance sector, he left Mission Markets in 2016.  His interest in impact investing was motivated by his experiences living as a teenager in Ecuador, South America, and seeing the damaging effects of social injustice firsthand. After learning more about impact investing his vision was to create a company that could utilize capital markets to further the needs of society and the environment. In 2015 Michael was recognized for his work by being included in the "Real Leaders" magazine special edition "100 Visionary Leaders".

Michael has over 25 years of experience in capital markets including as a Vice President of Fixed Income Sales and Trading at Bear Stearns & Co.. His expertise has been focused primarily on the design and implementation of technology to scale new finance mechanisms. In 1998, he co-founded NYPPEX which is a leading data and transactions platform for illiquid securities. NYPPEX acquired Offroad Capital in 2001, which at that time was the leading private transaction platform for early stage private companies, he left NYPPEX in late 2004.

Michael has four children and grew up in Southern California. Michael is an avid surfer and competed in the NSSA and was a member of the highly regarded Orange Coast College Surf Team.  In addition to his love for surfing he also competed in Muay Thai kickboxing and still trains at his local UFC gym.
