Selene Lawrence

Selene Lawrence is an outreach professional advocating for sustainability in the public, non-profit and private sectors. She has served as a lead analyst for the Governance & Accountability Institute since 2014, measuring corporate responsibility and compliance for some of the largest companies in the U.S, while reporting on current sustainability trends and providing in-depth insight for improvements.

Her career experience includes the New York City Department of City Planning, where she participated in a citywide inter-agency initiative to produce resiliency planning for New York City areas threatened by climate change, specifically sea-level rise.

Additionally, at the American Geographical Society, she appealed to leaders in business, academia, government and non-profit agencies to frame the national discussion of the growing importance of geography and geo-spatial tools in environmental conservation.

In her current role as Community Development Manager at San Diego-based Sullivan Solar Power, Ms. Lawrence advocates for consumer education and empowerment through renewable energy throughout Southern California. She works with institutions, cities and residential customers on strategies to improve their carbon footprint through the adoption of solar energy.

Selene is using her experience interning at G&A as a Sustainability Analyst to gain insight in applying sustainability to the corporate world and improving transparency, and sees herself continuing to explore this field.
