Peter C. Fusaro

Peter C. Fusaro, prolific author, keynote speaker and respected thought leader, possesses unique expertise on emerging energy and environmental financial markets.  He is Chairman of Global Change Associates, a financial services advisory in New York City. 

His New York Times best seller, What Went Wrong at Enron, is one of the 15 books he’s written on energy and the environmental financial markets.   Peter Fusaro’s latest book will be published in 2010 by Oxford University Press, entitled Energy and Environmental Project Finance Law and Taxation: New Investment Techniques. Early on in the field, he coined the term “Green Trading.” His innovative annual Wall Street Green Trading Summit in New York each spring (www.wsgts.com) invites experts from all over the world to share their pool of knowledge at the New York Times Center.  The next summit is scheduled for April 13 & 14, 2010.

Mr. Fusaro has been on the forefront of energy and environmental change for over 34 years, defining ways to use energy more efficiently and in an environmentally benign manner. His current focus:  environmental financial market acceleration for carbon trading and finance, cleantech, and renewable energy markets. Peter is an advisor on carbon trading and finance to financial services companies worldwide. 

Ever the entrepreneur, Peter Fusaro co-founded the Energy Hedge Fund Center LLC (www.energyhedgefunds.com) in 2004, which tracks energy and environmental hedge funds, and published the first “Green Hedge Fund Directory” in January 2009. Inspiring to green MBA students and faculty alike, he was invited to membership on the Advisory Board of the ERB Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.  He has lectured at MIT, Stanford, Wharton, Northwestern, London School of Economics, Columbia and Baruch among leading educational institutions. He is also a well-known expert on Asia Pacific energy and environmental financial markets. He was selected for Who’s Who in America for 2007-2010 and Who’s Who in the World for 2009-2010.

An advisor to several cleantech software and hardware companies in the US and Canada, Peter is a member of the board of CleanAir Technology (mobile sources of pollution), and member of the Advisory Boards of Belgrave Carbon Exchange (carbon offsets), Carbon Flow (carbon documentation web-based system), AtmosAir (indoor air quality appliance), Ecoverdance (plant accelerant to produce carbon credits from agriculture), EcoSysCapital Management (carbon trading platform), CRD Analytics (sustainability scoring software for companies financial performance), and Aspiralink (green professional services portal).

In the fall of 2008, he created the innovative Green Salon in New York, which presents performing artists and environmental experts in a salon setting for knowledge transfer, conversation, illumination and fun. Peter will launch the Global Change Foundation Inc., an educational non-profit foundation whose goal is to accelerate knowledge transfer on cleantech, carbon trading and renewable energy in the near future.  Peter C. Fusaro graduated with an MA in international relations from Tufts University and a BA from Carnegie-Mellon University.
