Mike is President of Mike Krzus Consulting, Inc. (www.mikekrzus.com). He is an internationally recognized expert on integrated reporting and co-author, with Robert G. Eccles, Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School, of the first book on integrated reporting – “One Report: Integrated Reporting for a Sustainable Strategy.”
“One Report” won a 2010 PROSE Award for Excellence in Business, Finance & Management and has been translated into Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Korean, and Japanese.
Mike is a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council.
Trust Across America named Mike one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders of 2010.
He was a 2010 Cecil and Ida Green Honors Professor at Texas Christian University, Neeley School of Business.
Mike worked with the Secretariat of the International Integrated Reporting Committee and was a member of the SAM Group (Zurich) 2010 Sustainable Asset Management Faculty.
He served as Executive Director of the AICPA Special Committee on Enhanced Business Reporting and Chairman of the AICPA XBRL Assurance Task Force.
Mike was a member of the XBRL-US board of directors and the AICPA Assurance Services Executive Committee.
He was instrumental in founding the Enhanced Business Reporting Consortium and the World Intellectual Capital Initiative, which were focused on development of reporting frameworks for nonfinancial information and sector-specific key performance indicators.
Mike has almost 40 years of experience in public accounting and industry. Prior to founding Mike Krzus Consulting, he was Grant Thornton’s global corporate reporting expert. Mike also worked in the Arthur Andersen Assurance Professional Standards Group (1999-2002), the BDO Seidman National SEC Practice Group (1995-1996), and the Checkers Simon & Rosner Accounting and Auditing Quality Group (1986-1995).
Mike began his career with Illinois Central Railroad in 1973 where he moved through five progressively more responsible positions and became Director of Financial Reporting in 1983. Mike returned to IC Railroad in 1996 as Internal Audit Director.
